Just got some pictures of Maja

I was getting ready to feed Maja a little while ago (finally got some salmon, so we'll see how that goes!) and before I fed her, I decided to snap a few pics. Well, technically my mom took the pictures, because I was holding Maja at the time. I even remembered to measure her this time and she's 27 inches!

Ah, so now I know what she is! I was being told on another forum that she was a common garter, but she doesn't quite look like any of the pictures I've seen of commons. Thank you for the ID and the compliment. I'm quite proud of her. ^_^

Hey there!!!! you have a lovely indonesian striped keelback! Commonly referred to as the indonesian "garter"! They are not related to garters at all, actually a rear fanged egg-laying species but totally harmless! Garters are Thamnophis whereas keelbacks are Xenochrophis, I keep this species also.... eats everything in sight!!! She never comes out of her water bowl!!! I am not sure what forum you were using but there's no such thing as just a "common garter"... they all have names and every one's different! Sounds like the person you were talking to has never enjoyed the presence of a small alert snake bursting with personality!

The forum on pangeareptile.com. They're sweet people and I know I'm going to be getting a crested gecko from one of the other forum members there once I have the space and the money, but snakes ..... are definitely not their strong point.

I wish people would refrain from giving "advice" when they don't know what they are talking about.... The whole "common garter" thing ticks me off.
