Thanks Steve - So is the compost worm the red wiggler NOT to feed? I don't dig my own, I get the DME Canadian nightcrawlers from Walmart. I think it's only thing there that's NOT made in China.

Compost worms are toxic. Walmart sells "Pan Fish" worms(compost worms) which are toxic to garters.
The night crawlers sold at Walmart are safe.

Each individual worm needs to be researched before feeding them but as a rule most non-compost worms should be safe.
Sorry I couldn't give you a more clear-cut answer but without knowing which worm you are talking about I want to error on the side of caution.
With that being said I know I have no wild compost worms in my soil so all the worms I catch and feed are safe.
