my female eastern blackneck seems to have contractions since yesterday, and by that i mean she "tenses" every few minutes. i'm not even 100% sure that she's pregnant, although she is awfully big. could she be in labor?

no, i'm still trying to get a picture that'll show her whole body. in the meantime she continues to do the same thing, "contracting" every few minutes.

Just for interest... what have you been feeding her, and how often does she eat?

f/t pinkies, about every 5 days, and she's been pretty regular, except today she refused her food. she's also very active today, more so than in the last few days.

Hi Tina, she doesn't appear really big, but there is definitely that gravid shape to her. Fingers crossed.

thanks, i never saw them breed and i didn't even cool them down for the winter because i thought they're a little young and wouldn't breed yet anyway. so maybe nature is taking it's course in spite of me, we'll see.
