I got the metal shelves up....I wish I had a better pic for you guys but my camera is on the fritz. Thankfully, I'm getting a new one for Christmas, so I can show you some better pics after Christmas. The shelves are great because they are basically wrought iron with rails under the tanks so that the heat mats can let heat out...and there are all kinds of places that I can thread cords through for the mats and lamps. Cee Cee's tank is on the bottom, Seely's in in the middle, and Hermes is on top. The pic at least gives you an idea of the set-up.

Thanks, Steve. Thanks for your help figuring out what to do with the tanks and suggesting the shelving.

No I actually found them at Kmart...I still have the box...I'll get the info...Clothing, Toys, Electronics, Jewelry, Jaclyn Smith - Kmart.com (http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_10104_010W435220070001P?sid=comm_kmart_pro ductpg) Hopefully that link will work. They are so great...they hold up to 250 lbs on each shelf, are made of wrought iron...so the heating pads can let heat through underneath...and have all kinds of holes and slots to thread cords through. And they were only $35. Yep...checked the link...it works! Oh and you can adjust the shelf height so that you can fit lamps on top!

Mine was a little different, but same concept. I got it at Costco for 50 bucks on sale. There are two more wooden shelves, but not using them here:

Sweet, thanks! Thought it would have been a bit more. Don't know why.
Don't do Costco yet, but I've found some similar stuff at Home Depot...

Kmart had those too...they were right next to the ones that I bought but I wasn't sure if those shelves were adjustable or not so I bought the other ones.

I wanna build me something like that but make it into a 'decorative' shelving unit for my books n maybe a vase n maybe candles, Snakes being the main feature of course... That is just on hold till my Fiance lets me get more critters that is... Next year for sure. :D

I've never seen any that were not adjustable. That's what the holes in the vertical supports are for.

4, 5, doesn't make any difference. I couldn't use more than 3 (including the bottom one) anyway or there wouldn't be room for the tanks. You gotta make sure there's plenty of clearance between tanks, especially when using overhead heat.

I just need to be able to stack two 20+ gallon tanks above each other, and possibly a third. That would allow me 3-4 tanks, allowing me too separate my babies into three's. Smoke Red Spooner in one, Rooster Oscar one-that-i'm-getting-next-year in the other.
Right now i've got my 20, and my 10. Can't fit ANY right now.

Two 20's would work just fine. I had to use a step stool to get comfortably into the top tank though. The top one is a 10 gallon, but I could have put a 20, or 2X 10 gallon tanks up there.

You're not supposed to put yourself in the tank, Richard, you're supposed to put the snakes in the tank.

ORLY? No wonder my snakes keep disappearing, and I keep getting leg cramps. Thanks for the tip.:p You should put that in the care sheets, so nobody else will make that mistake.

They're keeping YOU as the pet, and then forgetting to feed you and eventually forgetting about you. You're probably like a python or other lazy snake... Haha. :D

Not sure how I should take that. You know I have a filthy mind.

Jesse...the shelves that I bought allowed me to fit 3 20 gallons nicely...and I can reach all three...I can even get into the top one (and I am short). Each shelf will hold up to 250 lbs and allow UTH mats to let heat escape from the bottom...plus you can thread cords through the shelves.
