Thanks. He's still a little skittish about bring held, but he's getting there. He's a mama's boy. He follows Willow around the tank everywhere she goes. Almost like he's being taught by her how to explore. It's cute!

That's great! Did you lose any? I had pretty low hopes for the 2 smallest as one had only one bite of slug and the other nothing at all.

I know, the first thing that came to mind when I saw him was "OMG so tiny and cute". I forget how little NW's are!

Yes, northwesterns are commonly 2-4 inches when they're born, and they grow really slowly. A yearling is usually about 6-9 inches long ;) At least, that's how my snakes have grown.

Just noticed Fish Bait is opaque today. He's been hiding and I figured it was just about time, so i dug him out and sure enough!

Little man is about to shed. He's been hiding a lot and freaked out today when Bill cleaned the tank while I was at work. I told Bill he's probably going to shed soon. When I got home from work I checked his belly and sure enough milky white.
He's growing so nicely and he's a really good eater. He's been graduated from worm bits to 1/2in pieces. He gets a vitamin dusting every 3 feedings. I'm a very proud mama. I have counted myself very lucky to have such easy northwesters. They are such a treasure!

I have put northwesterns on my list. I am getting a radix in the spring from Steve and then I think my next snake will be a NW. I just hear such great things about them! I'm glad to hear Fish Bait is doing so well. I just can't get over how cute his name is!

Thought it was time to get some updated pics of Fish Bait up. He's looking really good. After his shed I notice his head is getting lighter colored and he seems to have a ghost flame thing going on.

Thanks! He's getting so big! He's been flirting with Maria and Blade lately. It looked like Blade was giving him a piggy back ride the other day. She was going all over the place and he was just hanging on. It was cute. I'm super excited to get a male puget when the weather gets a little better. His name will be Bugs, because they have suck buggy eyes.

Haha. Pumpkin hitches a ride on Mama all the time. It's so cute, I doubt he has any "bad" intentions though. He's just trying to be adorable in hopes of getting some pinky legs.

Cut the pinkies into a mush and mix that in a dish with some worms, they'll get an off consistancy that's like worms, but healthier! :D

Yeah, I'm going to start doing that now. I don't know how it will go over with Maria,but it seemed to work with Blade. She used to not eat pinkies either, but now she's a glutton!!

I love that pattern on his head...that is really neat. He looks great. Seeley always rides around on Cee Cee's back when they're together...I thought it was courting behavior before...but now I think most of the time he is just really attached to her and wants to be with her...I don't think he is necessarily trying to mate...I think he's in "snakie love"! lol...

I hope the pattern sticks around on his head. It's really pretty! Willow has a similar pattern, but faded. He looks very much like his mama. Same coloring and patterning.

Beautiful head pattern. Reminds me somewhat of the head pattern on a pastel Checkered (T.marcianus)

Yep...I noticed that Hermes has a similar head pattern. Cee Cee kind of has it too...but it's very faded and not quite as distinct. Seeley's head looks completely different...no pattern at all. It's very interesting how Cee Cee and Seeley are both easterns but they look so different. Seeley looks just like a picture of a radix I saw posted today...but I know he isn't a radix because we don't have them in Delaware.

I believe you were talking about the checkered, the radix was the smaller one with an orange stripe.

I'm still awake cause I had to check...yep...he looks just like the radix to me...but his stripe isn't orange it's tan...other than that, the pattern is exactly the same. Anyway...I'm going to sleep now! Goodnight :p.

Fish Bait shed yesterday. He is getting so big! He measures out at about 9in. He is only 6.5mo old. I noticed today that his eyes are getting really red colored. Here he is in all his new glory!

I love his stripe how it almost disappears toward his tail. The flames on his head are awesome too!. He is definitely a he also, I think the girls will love him when he is breeding age.
