Yesterday the doughter of our giant plains female gave birth to 16 healthy babies !!! They all look fine and no dead or deformed ones. So that's not bad for the first time:)

And this is the mother. She has a different colour than most plains, almost like a sirtalis florida blue

adamanteus

Sure. I have a little fish tank somewhere, I think!

What type of shark have they bred?

Gijs & Sabine
05-17-2007, 04:50 PM
baby nurse sharks, but the dwarfform (not sure if i spelled it correct)
It's the first time they are bred in captivety.

Congratulations on the baby's.
Today I went to the zoo where Gijs works, could it be that I've seen those baby sharks? Or were these the elder ones?
To bad, there were no garthers though ;)

Yesterday our female T. elegans terrestris 'red morph' has given birth to 15 very good looking babies. I've noticed that these are a little bigger than the eastern and plains babies we've had earlier.
The father is extreem red so I'm curious if the babies will become more red when they get older:rolleyes:

Yesterday was a wonderfull day !! One of our T.sirtalis tetrataenia females gave birth to 23 babies !!!! No dead or deformed ones, all beautifull and very alive. This was the first time for us to have san francisco babies.
We have another pregnant female, she did shed 2 days after this female, so it shouldn't be too long now.

ps. Sorry to all the Americans to not be aloud to keep the san francisco's : (

I can't even buy the Califonia red-sided! One of these days I will have to learn where is a good place to go look for someout in the wild, I've never done that before. Congrats on your lovely babies!

I'm trying to find someone willing to pick up a few snakes from the Hamm show, already got a possible contact. If that fails, I'll try to get a seat on some Swedish herp association's bus. If that fails..

Not a chance that some courier service might be willing to transport snakes, for a reasonable price (not cheap, just reasonable)?
