Am I correct in my thinking that the head pattern on a Pastel is unique to them and them only?

I've asked a lot of questions about the pastels myself, and got a lot of answers from Shannon but I still don't have a clue. She says the one I got from her is a pastel but it looks totally normal to me. Nothing like this one.

hi jason,

don't worry. i'm dying to ship them to you! you wouldn't believe how many easterns/ebns i bought this year:) i tried getting some better picts of the juevi albino terrestris and he's still too wiry. trying to hold a wiggly small garter in one hand, while using the other hand to hold the auto focus dig cam to get a clear shot on him was impossible. as for the distinction of pastel checkereds, i have no idea. head pattern, color contrast, and even their co dom genetics are still being discussed. the person that sold them to me said he had "normal" looking checkered adults pop out stunning pastel checkerds. i guess the head pattern would be one distinguishing factor. for me, if it looks like one, it is one. when i saw them as babies, they were as black/white as it gets. could be no other morph i can think of.
