I google this picture about once a month to remind myself of what garter is at the top of my list. This is it, and it has been for years, and it alwyas will be because I am never going to be able to find them. Then again, I never expected to run into someone with a bucket of natrix yesterday either.

that and another photo should be in the species listing page (forgot what it was called...) I emailed the person that took the photos and got permissin to add the pics there. they are absolutely awesome!!!
How many natrix did you get Shannon??? adults or babies? I have been wanting them for a long time!!!!

I've never even heard of those, but they're really pretty... Are they hard to find because they're endangered, or because no one's breeding them?

they have a very limited range in Mexico. hard to get Mexican species too. :(

They are awesome snakes but the top of my list is a snake i will never be able to have but look at the contrast on this awesome snake.

sumichrasti's are only found in a limited range in mexico. that sweet snake is the Short-tail Alpine Garter Snake, Thamnophis scaliger (http://www.thamnophis.com/w/index.php?title=Thamnophis_scaliger&action=edit&redlink=1)

I just love the markings and would love to be able to work with these guys but i think they are protected if im not mistaken.

I belive I may have been wrong on this... mixed up photos on the internet... I went to Rossman's book and checked... it shows as the Mexican Alpine Blotched Garter Snake, Thamnophis scalaris

they are an awesome looking snake also! there are a number of different pics of it on the internet. their color varies too.

Oh man, those are some AwEsOmE snakes. I lovem. Are those what they normally look like or are they morphs. They are very cool thank you for sharing these wonderful pictures.

It's a normal, natural morph. But they vary.
