This female was caught by a buddy of mine yestrday morning. She is an interesting red color, not what I would call erythristic, because of the pattern, but definately has a red tint. Anyways, this is by far the most red garter I have seen from Indiana. She might breed this spring, so we will see if she passes this color to her offspring.

Interesting snake. I like the lack of a pattern on her back as well.

Kevin has been completely out of touch for over a year now...

Last work I got from him, he does not have any snakes at the moment.

Its black pipgment is very washed out, so I am thinking it would very well be a "Red Hypo". Thats the "name" I will give her for now. Hopefully we will see her true colors once she sheds, and get cleaned up a little. Reminds me alot of hypo boas where the black pigment is washed out, and the red is increased, but who knows. I just hope she adjusts well to captivity and will give me a brood of babies.

It also looks alot like Jeff's hypo chicago i think you might be right. She is very neat looking.

A friend of mine has this snake i don't know if it would be a hypo or a nice colored normal. After being in captivity for awhile and shedding a few times she looks very pale looking.

Very cool Jason, first thing I thought of was that it looks very similar to my hypo chicago only without the neck barring and a bit more melanin in the spots, but none the less "red hypo" sounds very descriptive to me, hope that proves out, would make a great cross with the flame.
