We came downstairs today to find our first shed skin. It's in Binky and Bethan's tank, and its Bethan we thought was about to shed, but it's more Binky size. Binky is about 10cm longer and the skin is fatter than Bethan.
Unless shed skins stretch significantly it looks like we missed the signs of Binky's pending shed.

Sheds stretch when they're being pulled off their body, so it likely was Bethan's shed, but just stretched out.

Thanks Chantel. She shed is about the same length as Binky, so the only way if could have been her would have been if they don't stretch significantly, but if a 5-10cm (2-4 inch) stretch isn't unusual it sounds like it's Bethan's skin.
Bethan does look shinier, whilst Binky looks the same.
I've checked the eyecaps are on the shed, and the skin seems to be pretty much intact (one big piece and smaller pieces a couple of inches long). Hopefully Bethan will eat now she's shed.

Hope she does!
The one who shed will be shiny and smooth, all fresh lookin'

If you rub your finger down their back you can usually tell who shed. The one who shed will be extremely soft.I've found that even Snakey, who has seriously keeled scales and is very rough, gets super soft after a shed. :D I tend to get his sheds and Runt's sheds mixed up (they are the same size)

That's what I meant "smooth".

Yeah, and silky soft! When Mama sheds I like to keep her up by my face because shes all soft and cuddly feeling... :D

Yeah soft is a better description.
The best part about them shedding is their "new" or fresh look.
My flame gets redder each shed so I look forward to that, my anery changes a little each time, plus he looks SO COOL when he's fresh, my concinnus is bright and colorful and has BRIGHT WHTE stripe, and my adult just looks awesome!

Definitely Bethan's shed then. Binky is hiding at the back of the viv under some leaves, but she definitely doesn't look brighter and smoother, whereas Bethan does look shiney. It was the size of the shed that confused me, I hadn't realised how much they stretched.

My flame is 10 inches. His most recent shed was easily 15inces. You gotta know who's getting ready to shed. Dull skin, blue eyes....
Check it out. My Anery, 2 days before shed, and after.

Yeah, we knew that. We have a check on get the each snake when ever we get the opportunity. Binky's eye's never clouded and we have had Bethan for less that 48hrs and her eyes were not cloudy either so we really didn't see it coming. Oh well, it's academic now.

The eyes clear up the day before they shed.
Albinos (like Binky) don't get blue eyes, I don't know how to explain it cause Ive never seen it, but it's just a different shade of pink, maybe more purple.

That's part of the reason we think it was Bethan. We would have missed the change of eyes. Binky's eyes have been ruby sparkly red constatly. I was never in doubt that it wasn't Binky. The skin was too small.

Now that was an embarassing typo.

Useful to know, I'd not read about albinos eyes not going blue, but it makes perfect sense.
Bethan threw me a bit as she is new and I'd not established a baseline for her colours, so the only clue was that she had some loose threads of skin yesterday. We'll get to know these babies soon enough. I spend long enough looking at them when I should be working...

If there's skin still on the snake you should get it off.;)

She's not eating still and is looking a bit baggy skinned. I'm worrying.
