I love to watch all my garter snakes eat but it's the babies that I love the most.
Those ravenous little monsters really get into it. Stalking whatever food item they are offered.
Striking their prey hard to make sure it doesn't get away. Then swollowing and getting another piece as quick as they can.
Always alert to someone jumping in and attempting to steal their prey.
Then to watch them relax after the frenzy is over.
I love these little scrubs.

This is not true.
...As that can be very dangerous and cause mouth injuries.

Lol ya. My only baby similes grabs his worms and rushes in his den and faces away from the entrance. He likes his privacy :D

I have one that does that. Fish Bait likes to chase after that one but I watch them very closely during feeding time. With 6 mouths now feeding I have to be careful about food fights. Those are bad!

Ive had a food fight before. Kinda cool to watch but i hold onto each snake and once I pick them up one always lets go. No ones hurt and its good to go.
Steve weird question cause Ive been meaning to ask . Why do you call them scrubs? I wasnt here when it started so I dont think Ive heard why.

Don't let them fight. It could injury them.

If one if their many teeth punctures the inside of the mouth or lip, it can cause problems. Injuries, infections etc.

i dont let them fight on purpose. Its when I turn and one has a worm it its mouth and another will come by and try to grab it to eat it too. Thats why I pick them up cause I know one will let go. Ive only had it happen 2x.

And relentless. That one snake stops at nothing to get his precious fish. (or worm in this case) as you can see.
