Thanks all!

Quite easy to take such pictures though.... The hardest part is making sure the snakes sit still...
The rest is a clear white background with decent lighting (In this case, external flash with the flash bouncing of a white ceiling)
90mm macro + Nikon D90 do the rest. Editing is kept to a minimum.

It's not easy if you don't have a camera!! lol ;)

I have to agree I think...

Make sure they sit really still and make a nice drawing?

I've tried some blank background shots, my cameras flash and shutter just doesn't get the job done.

With manual settings or automatic? Automatic won't do the job because the camera recognises pure white as overexposed area. Small spots won't hurt, but with such a big surface in white, the camera will do everything in its power to make it grayish instead of pure white... Either that, or the whole picture will become overexposed...

Both manual or automatic. Mine has limited settings for that.

The whole pic is overexposed, yes.

It's just a slightly outdated 8mp compact digital from Olympia. While it takes some pretty darn good photos (especially with sunlight) the flash with that stuff just ruins the shot.

Its an orange T. s. pickeringii.
The breeder and I are trying to prove this out as a possible new mutation. The adult male is as orange as ... well, an orange!
