I would never use cotton because i like my enclosures to look natural, but i don't know if it would be safe. First if the snake swallows strands of cotton it would get stuck in there intestines. Second would be if there is some kind of chemicals that could cause a longterm effect on the snakes. I would stick to something more common in the pet trade.

Same here, I like natural looking stuff, so I use ReptiBark etc. I hate CareFresh for that reason. But if you don't care, Id go CareFresh instead.

I wouldn't like all the little fibers coming off and doing god only knows what with the snake. Or the chance of them being ingested etc.

If you really wanted to try it, I would suggest getting some aquarium cotton. It doesn't have the chemicals that could potentially harm your snake, and it shouldn't give off any loose stands that could be digested, as someone else has said. I think it would probably be pretty difficult to burrow in, but as long as you have enough hides I doubt your snake would mind!

Aquarium cotton is usually used as a filter media in aquariums. It looks like cotton really.

I think this is it, but it's been molded into sheets, I'm sure it could easily be pulled apart though. The stuff I've seen is very loose and fluffy
