Got a new concinnus baby from Don! (ssssnakeluvr)
He's 7 inches long, and kinda thin.. working on that.
He's a really good eater, ate an hour after arrival, straight from my hand. Yup. He's a keeper :D
He's living with my baby anery red sided, and flame eastern, and they're all sleeping on eachother right now.
VERY colorful, beautiful snake. Quite pleased.
here he is!

Met with my flame... "what the heck is that thing, going into my hut?"

He's cool. As long as i don't touch him he's very calm and nice.

Thanks! He's doing great, just ate more worms!
That's a good healthy looking snake.;)
The skinniness was a little concerning at first... it was skinnier than you think. The pics are after he ate. I'll keep feeding him a little bit each day. Not worrying.

Yeah, I am. I love the variaty of the 3 snakes in that cage! When all three are moving around, and all are so different, it's really awesome!

Honestly, Ember is a skinny little guy too. I doubt there is any need to worry about it. Males are long and very thin. It's unhealthy to make him "fat"... Which is really easy to do.

I know. He was just a little too skinny. Not anything to worry about, i know. Thanks, though.

Then there is no reason to feed him any more often, or more than the other babies.

I'm not. That's what I'm saying. I'm feeding hin LESS.

He looks good! He doesn't look in any danger... he will be just fine. If you saw some of the twigs I've had born... man oh man, they are scary to raise sometimes. I worry I'm going to break them touching them.

I know it's not that bad, but that's how I felt... When I'm holding him Im scared to hurt him, and feeding it seems like anything that goes in him will stretch him WAAAAY to far..... But i know it's not anything to worry about..

I'm still kicking myself for not getting that Blue phase (actually green phase) :o

Yeah, they're awesome. This guys dad was one... no one knows how the gene works, so there's no CB babies.. This guy has a blue belly, could have something to do with that. Heck, he may become one over time, who knows.

I don't think he's ever used a hide yet, despite how jumpy he is.. he just curles up or basks ALL DAY...

Sweet snake.

I know, I love his colors, and his sweet (but jumpy) personality.
Well, he moved from that spot, and is now curled up on top of the hide sleeping. Mine have never done that.

That's how Ember is. He's about 2.3 feet now. They get pretty big ;) He's jumpy, too. But, he seems to enjoy being handled, because he gets to check everything out. They're fun snakes (I mean, look at Snap) :D

He doesnt like being handled, but my anery loves it. Its an excuse to get out ofthe cage. :p

07-31-2011, 06:24 PM
Well, Ember doesn't like me picking him up, but after that's over with, he happily explores.
RedSidedSPR
07-31-2011, 06:32 PM
Yeah, that's how my adult is...
My anery just explores all day, never stops moving around the cage. But he's only got 10gals, so, he tends to try and climb out, and seems to really appreciate me helping him by taking him out ad letting him go somewhere else...
This guy is jumpy with a lot of movement, but he's obviously not too worried, since he sleeps out in the open... He'll come up to me, climb over my hand, eat from my hand, and, just doesn't like handling yet.

Thanks.
Last night, he spent the night curled up on top of one of the hides.... I don't get it, but he doesn't use hides. Went to Ed he was up there, woke up to him up there.

Internet's a bit sketchy here, so I'm just now seeing this, but he's a great looking snake!
Thanks.

Houdini doesn't either. I think maybe it's a sign of them being a bit bolder and calmer than normal.

Yeah, that has to be it. Still hates me touching him though... He's pretty sweet though, just a little jumpy.

Well he is new ;) he's probably thinking "WTF ARE YOU!? Hey! Stop it! Don't touch me!" :p

Exactly. Under the circumstances, I wont hold it against him :D

He's not as pretty as Ember. :D
... Yet.
Embers red on his spots got darker and darker. Its a blood orange red kind of look in a way. He lost colour on his face and has a white/lite blue mustache :D

He's as awesome as I ever need him to be.:p
Btw, he tamed overnight!:D he's not jumpy at all, and crawls up my hand!

He might take a step back a few times. Snap pulled that on me too, about 3 times. She's the same pissy snake that I've always had, but she has a soft side for spas and salmon ;)

Well, from the start, he was jumpy cause he's new etc. But I could tell he would calme down. Even when jumpy, he was a very sweet snake. Plus, he slept put of hides, so he wasn't THAT jumpy.

That's his Dad?! Ive seen that photo lots of places, and have always though "awesome", had no idea it was his dad!:D
So what do you think the blue gene will do? I mean, he has a blue belly, does that have something to do with it?
