So I did some cheap looking and put up an add in the Wanted section of Craigslist. I got an email last night saying this guy had a 20G long. I was so excited I couldn't wait to get my hands on it!! The best part is he only wanted $10 for it!! Then I realized I needed a lid for it :( BUT I called my local pet store and was excited to hear they had 2!! I go there wondering how much it's going to cost me. When I get there he tells me he only wants $10 for it :D I was so excited and glad it was so cheap, Charles seems to be pretty happy with his new home aswell :D

In a 20G tank, Is it possible to house two garters?

That looks like a mighty fine tank :) as well as a happy looking snake. Sage would be very upset with me if I used substrate like that though, no where to burrow. $20 for a 20L and lid is a pretty solid deal.

Great deal! I have two pair of garters, with each pair in a 20G long (which it looks like yours is) and it works well. They are active snakes, so they appreciate as much room as you can give them, but 20G longs do work fine.

I have my adult in a 20 long. I think it's just fine. I also think another snake could easily fit.

I might try to get a W/C female for him... Good idea or bad?

Might be better to wait until you have this one switched over to another food source.
Just an idea.;)

Oh of course :p I would wait probably a month or two still, I was wondering though would it be a bad idea to have a WC female?

There isn't anything wrong with WC except for the possible parasite load.

And that can all be taken care of through the de-worming process correct?

Yes, assuming the snake is healthy and can handle the deworming process.

i made a mistake on my last post. I do have Pheobe in a 20 gal tank but I still wish I had a bigger one . It hard to find a bigger one discent price(cheap).lol. What is the next size after a 20.

there are 25s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 70s. I haven't seen or heard of a 60 gallon, oddly enough.

Sometimes you'll find some random size like 54gal. Saw that one time.

Put an ad in the Craigslist wanted section! I posted I was looking for a 10+ gallon aquarium, and by the next day I had over 5 e-mails!! And one person was kind enough to sell me a 20G long for only $10!! There were people also that offered me much bigger for EXTREMELY low prices! It's always worth a try!

Just make sure to say you would like pictures of them as some people might try to sell you algae and scum covered aquariums. YUCK!
