These are pics from last year, I'm going to attempt to get some new ones sometime in the near future but figured I'd post these for those who haven't seen them.
This is a typical adult shorthead garter snake, probably about 15".

Here's a little neonate shorthead that was maybe a month or two old. These pics were taken at the end of August, I'm curious as to if females started dropping babies yet.

Little guy was kinda plump because he just ate. The only prey item they'll take, worm. Most of the shortheads I find have just eaten, especially after a rainy day... Earthworms come out and the shortheads follow.
