The female coast garter T. elegans terrestris gave birth today to a nice sized litter. At first I only saw one baby crawling around and I could tell the female was done, so I thought crap a tiny litter of only one baby, so I grabbed it, then another popped out of the substrate then another and another, soon they were popping out all over the place like popcorn, lol
Ended up with 17 good sized healthy babies. These guys develope more red/orange color with every shed, so it will be fun to watch them grow and develope.
See if you can count all the heads, hint one is mostly hidden but you can track the neck up to where the head is beneath another.

Tanks all, its always a nice surprise, just been super busy at work and studying, so not sure I need any more babies right now, lol
Yes they will be up for sale, just trying to figure out how to price them.
I asked Scott for guidance as he is the only one I have seen produce or sell them in the past. I want to make them affordable to share, but at the same time place a reasonable and respectible value on them since they are rarely offered in the hobby and for the sake of their species and longterm in the hobby and the parents are beautiful. Not as many people will want to work with them if they are completely devalued and worthless. So I think I have arrived at $50 each, and with two pairs or more free shipping. I think that is a fair (cheap) price and at the same time giving a beautiful animal a respectible and desirable value. I will place an add in the classified as well.

I thought $50 was a fantastic price. cheap! My elegans terrestris are darker, but so beautiful and red. if i had the extra money to spend right now, I'd probably snag 2 pair from you in a heartbeat. I might have to try come up with some before they are all gone!

I don't see any reason why they won't look as good as the parents, may take a year or two to get up to size and full color.
