Sorry if this has already been posted. But it was a front page article in today's local paper. Here is the link to the online version.
Couple's dream house at Rexburg was infested with thousands of snakes - Couple's dream house at Rexburg was infested with thousands of snakes: (http://www.journalnet.com/news/local/article_371dccfc-9e20-11e0-a92f-001cc4c002e0.html)

While I somewhat sympathize with the home owners, couldn't help but think they are a pack of wimps and be a bit mad at them.

Even though that is old news, it is incredibly stupid.

Yes, it is stupid

Hey, isn't this the story that was documented with Dons snakes?

Probably, the article said the house was shown on Animal Planet's Infested show.

Probably, the article said the house was shown on Animal Planet's Infested show.

I put these clips together and put them on my youtube channel quite a while ago. Don's website has changed since then but they show it on the show. The filming of live snakes are all his snakes, (wandering garters) filmed at his house. The wild ones (the ones infesting the house are also wanderings) were all brumating when the show was filmed so they used Don's snakes. There was more to the show (spiders and other stuff) but I just took the garter snake parts out and joined them together in one clip.

This one video got more views than all of my other videos put together. Over 83 thousand views. Unfortunately, since it isn't my content, it doesn't qualify for revenue sharing. That sucks.

I just recently watched it for the first time. It was pretty cool. It's kinda stupid how everybody acts like they're dangerous, but it was fun. Especially knowing Dons part in it.

minor correction....was filmed in June...all the local snakes were out and about. was actually filmed in Shelley Idaho at a different home. all snakes in there were my wanderings. they didn't use the real house for it. would have been nice to have them come to my house to film.... =) but it was a fun trip to Idaho for me and Nikki.

I was just interested to see it in the local paper, they don't usually have anything about snakes in there, other than the occasional article for hikers, especially in certain areas, to remember to wear high boots, in case of being bit by a rattler.

You guys can have the place if you want. I prefer to have a place with a clean, drinkable water supply. I may like keeping Little Dude and Scarlett, but I'm not going to drink their enclosure water.

I doubt the snakes are the cause of the water problems.
It's just makes for a more sensational story.
Blame the snakes.

well water is generally a lot deeper than any snake poo can get....and they don't musk when they crap either... just something else to make them seem worse...

The real shame is that at some point I'm willing to bet that house will get burned down to collect insurance money.

I don't think so. The bank already outlined their plan and that's what generated this latest news release and renewed discussion. Due to all the publicity, the snakes will be treated humanely. They hired someone to trap as many as they can when they return this fall. They will be relocated and then they will make repairs to the house so that they cannot get back in. At least, that's the plan.

How much you want to be that the majority of them end up as Steve's house?
