A baby cant eat a fuzzy. An adult male northwestern would also have a bit of trouble with anything larger than a pinky. Mine can take smaller pinkies, but nothing else. Fuzzies are also more... Well, theres more guts involved with fuzzies than there are with pinkies. But, that said, they can be cut up. Make sure the pieces you offer are smaller or the same size of his head.

they would have to be chopped into little pieces and mixed with chopped worms to scent them.

I've seen my Little Dude eat a frog that was a great deal larger than her own head. It took her a while, but she gulped that sucker down. Snakes are capable of eating things quite larger than their own heads. But whether it would be healthy, or whether they would want to, that's a different story. But generally speaking, it's better to feed things the snake can easily eat, and a good rule of thumb is that the pieces should be no bigger than the snake's head.

That said, the suggestion to mix the fuzzy pieces with worm pieces is a good one. If you chop a fresh nightcrawler, the pieces will continue to wiggle for some time, and the movement and scent will attract the snake's attention.

especially with babies. They need smaller food. You don't want to stretch them out as much as the adults. That's why you feed them less, more frequently.

I wouldn't do fuxxies. No reason.

A lot of snakes don't like to eat the fur on fuzzies, even adults. If you're going to feed those to the babies, you might need to chop and pick out the furry bits. I don't think there's a health issue with the fur, just might be hard to convince babies to eat it.

Mama eats fuzzies when I have them, she loves them and has absolutely no problems with it. I've never seen her with fuzzy or furry poop in the entire 2 years I've had her. Maybe for younger snakes they might have a hard time digesting the fur, I know I've seen a little bit of hair in Squirt and Thumbelina's poop before when I had nothing but a hopper to feed them.

If it is what you have, might as well give chop them up and give it a shot...Nothing lost.

My snakes seem not to prefer the fuzzies as much, so I stick with the larger pinkies. Maybe it's the texture.

Whiskers and fur, unless that's what you meant by texture.
I had a couple who don't like the whisker.
Unless they're starving, then anything goes: Whiskers, fur, fingers, blood, hands and screaming children.:D

Wow...I never thought of trying screaming children. And I have 4 of those!!!:D

You can spare one or two. May be interesting to watch.

I may have to scent them but that shouldn't be too hard, the way they get covered in dirt and C$%#

Not a bad idea to go head and freeze them first. Gets rid of parasites.

Even better. I have a chest freezer. For the fuzzies. Had to clarify that...
Scenting the children is just to get the snakes interested:D

oh... ok.. i was about to suggest cutting them up if depending on the size, but if your not using them...

That's sort of twisted and dark.
