There may be some slight color change as he grows.
Basically imagine a larger snake.
I like to looks of your snake.
Very nice lines.
T. ordinoides is a great garter.

terns don't tend to show their colour until they're a couple months old. He may develop a coloured stripe, or he may stay he same. Either way he is a cute little one

Never can tell. That's fun though, watching him mature and change

I meant northwesterns, not "terns". My pc must have lagged while I was typing. Haha.

Would you guys mind being more specific when you describe snakes (not just the scientific names) for those of us that are still reading "Garter Snakes for Dummies" lol, Thanks!

He'll likely stay basically the same as now. Like Chantel was saying, his stripe might color up a bit. Might turn out more yellow, or might stay the same. The next 6-8 months should tell.

Most of my babies (born on March 5th) have coloured up or stayed the same, only one of them has gotten colour so far, and that's specks. He's a little green sided northwestern and he's super cute! The others have just gotten darker. Sometimes its easier to tell if they might if you really pay attention to how they're body looks. In my experience, darker babies rarely change colour. Meaning, when they're base colour is a dark brown, or a black colour, they tend to keep that black or brown, while the lighter babies light base colour seems to change once a week.
Now, if only I could breed a garter whose stripe changed every week. That would be lovely. :D
