Anyone know what the heck those are, and if they're safe to feed (doubt it)

DMF bait at walmart has those along with nightcrawlers and stuff.

They are small worms, with a yellow tip...

they do this cool "corkscrew threat display" or something. It's crazy.

Box says

Panfish-
Trout Worms

I never plan on using them... just curious.

They are compost worms(Red worms).
Toxic to garter snakes.

Eisenia Hortensis

Sounds like the worm you described is not the same worm as "panfish trout worms".

as was stated, those are simply red wigglers - a compost worm.

Anyway, best to stick with nightcrawlers, regardless.

I had no intention of ever using them...

so you're saying it's NOT panfish trout worms? That's what the box siad... which is why i asked.. they looked familiar, just didn't recognize it

Panfish/Trout worms is just marketing... technically, roundworms, flatworms, flukes, etc.. are also "panfish worms" just a parasitic variety.

Trout worms are very toxic to garter snakes, or any snakes for that matter. They are HIGHLY acidic. Only buy worms if they are definitely sold as Earthworms or Nightcrawlers. Compost worms, trout worms, red worms, or red wigglers are all names you want to stay AWAY from.
