A full-body shot might help to decide if she's gravid. That's a rat pink she's eating, right?

Ben,

I think she's gravid. I want to say she is because I think I can see some irregular lumps sticking out of her, but I can't be sure without seeing her whole body... particularly how it tapers near the cloaca. She's either gravid or VERY obese. How often and how much do you feed her? If she's not very overfed, then she's definitely gravid.

she gets , on average 3 or 4 rat pinkys, and maybe 8 or so fish a week between 2 feedings

I love those snakes. But for the price tag on them, I probably won't be getting one. Soon anyway.

you know,
I'm looking at the picture of the snake in the hand
because I'm trying to gauge how big this snake is
because my garters get fat on less than half that amount of food
in fact, one of them is still working off double chins from last year's indulgences

now I'm looking at the pictures of it eating and I realize - this must be a huge snake

That's a whole lot to feed one snake. I don't know how big the fish are, but she would probably be more healthy if you cut the portion size in half. She wouldn't be eating nearly that much if her girth were due to babies. Their stomach and organs become so compressed by the growing young that they significantly reduce how much they eat and normally stop eating altogether before giving birth.

Well it's not double chinned at least.

this week she really didnt want to eat anything, maybe the babies are starting to take up more space inside of her, the fish she gets are only small goldfish , and yes she is a big snake , i will have to measure her one of these days

I don't know how long she's been on goldfish, but it's not a good sign when a goldfish eater stops eating. Check out the thiaminase thread (http://www.thamnophis.com/caresheets/index.php?title=Thiamin,). It's good you've been mixing rodents with the goldfish, but I'd completely replace the goldfish just to be safe. If she shows any signs of lethargy or weakness, I'd take her in for a B1 shot right away.
