After quite a bit of trial and error trying to get Houdini to eat something other than the minnows which have been almost his sole diet (along with the occasional nightcrawler) for 10 years now, he FINALLY ate his first pinky mouse! I had to chop it up and leave it on a rock in his cage, but he finally went for it.
This is a huge relief since he is going to be moving with me to a different area in under a year and I've been trying to get him used to other foods since minnows aren't really recommended and I especially wouldn't trust them from a bait shop where I don't know the owner or the fish.
Also, I am in the process of finding a female eastern for him to mate with; hopefully an albino.
Just thought I'd share that happy little update! :D
