Wow what luck is that....first to find an albino T.s.sirtalis (I'm guessing that's what she is) and then to find a gravid one. Very cool! Yeh, like Rick (Cazador) said, looks like she's really to drop any day now. Congrats on the very cool find.:D

now shes in blue.whats the timeing of a pre birth shed??
Someone in another thread just had a girl go blue before the birth and then shed after the birth. Not sure if that is the norm...

Often about ten days after the shed.
Yes, one of my Puget MaMa's was blue eyed the day before she gave birth. One day after giving birth she soaked in her water dish for about 30 minutes, then shed.
Nice 'MaMa to be' you have there :)

I was going to suggest that it happens about 3 weeks prior, but there's obviously a degree of variation.

That was me. One time my female concinnus did that. ONE time.
Glad to hear she's doing well 3 years later! Sounds like it's high time you breed one of her sons back to her, if you haven't already done that.
You're very lucky to find her. The only WC albinos I have ever found were CA king snakes, Pacific chorus frogs, and CA slender salamanders.

Glad to here she is still doing well! I have 2 of her daughters still and they are both gravid by a male that was born to one of them last year. My fingers are crossed that he turns out to be a het.
I will keep you posted

awsome Ed!!its a race to 2011 then!
i will be breeding her back to her 09 son an i hope he will also breed with his het sister in 2011!!
i just got a few dh shuett/melanistics to breed to my bluegrass hets to possibly see if they got any mel. genes from there father (the poss dh luec/mel i got from u)!!
all ya a update to you all!! this wc girls name is ZERO (named after the white candy bar by the guy that found her) she breed for me in 07 to a norm. wc male an Ed has the only two f1s that are still living from 07.
she did not breed again till 09 an i have the only 1.1 to live from that year. there are some 50%bluegrass 100%shuett het out there but i dont know how many.
bless u Ed for your help on keeping this line going! i do somewhat consider u a partner in this project!thank u! p.s. sorry to get your hopes up those few times.

I still have 6 of those 50% bluegrass 100% Schuett here at my house. 2 males and 4 females. I owe a pair to Jeff (let me know when you are ready for them lol). They are all starting to get some good size on them.
One of the het bluegrass females has gone off feed so it should not be long now! I sure hope the male turns out to be a het.
I will keep you posted

Yeah. I noticed that after I posted. I find it a little annoying when someone replies to a thread that old and makes it seem like a current discussion. But, that's not really anyone's fault but mine.
"The only WC albinos I have ever found were CA king snakes, Pacific chorus frogs, and CA slender salamanders."
pics?? lol
Well those were found in So. CA between 1983-1987 so don't hold your breath. The only herp pics I have from those days were taken with one of those instant poloroid cameras (high tech stuff) and the pics are buried in a box that I don't care to dig through. That's how we stored pics in the "old days" and they weren't called pics. They used to be called photo's and you never knew if the pictures turned out OK because you had to wait to develop the film unless you had a fancy schmancy instant camera! (still required film)
But hey, I was one of the lucky few. I owned a PC back that early. 8mhz, 256KB of ram, 16 color monitor and a 8MB hard drive. Top of the line.:p

...and a 8MB hard drive. Top of the line.:p
Ooops. Make that 80MB hard drive. Now I KNOW it was worth the $1500 price tag. I just pulled it out of the closet to fire it up. Still works.:D OK, waaaaayyy off topic.
