This was the snake at the top of my wish list.
Thanks, Joe.(Bushsnake)
This great looking female is a welcome addition to the Ranch.
Hoping to get her switched over to scented pinkies. Right now she's a salmon only eater.
No name, yet. Looks like I'll have to setup another contest.

This snake is on the loose right now. Hoping to find her soon.
Some idiot left the lid off her enclosure just long enough for her to escape.
I wonder who did that:D

Nice lookin Female there Steve, I just found an ad for some Santa Cruz babies up here (which you rarely see) So I'm going to try and git my hands on a pair. The guy says there's two different bloodlines that he has.

Hope you find her soon. Maybe she's out recruiting more guests for the Ranch. Also, as you have already figured out; providing some very necessary security assessments on the perimeter. I'm sure she will return with a full report on the vulnerabilities and the improvements that will need to be made post haste.:D

Been there done that. And a good looker, would love to have that in a habitat ... which I stilll have like 3 or 4 empty, T. infernalis would be nice ....
You know I find myself at night just before bedtime I look one more time at all the locks on the habitats just out of nerves …:confused:

I guess I will close this thread out.
I found my one and only atratus dead in the basement this evening.
Has been dead for awhile.
It went as far from the snake room as possible.
Sad ending to a beautiful snake.

Full responsibility for her death falls solely on my shoulders.
It was my mistake that allowed her to escape. (kicking myself as we speak)

Steve, It can happen to anyone. Just one of those things! It's the same with the birds......... If only I had done this..... or what if I had done that.......? I have had several incidents with birds and lost them due to a mistake on my part. Indeed the little Merlin that I rescued, rehabed got flying again..... has been in the vets for the last 6wks with serious infections in both feet. Getting better but very slowly. and I blame myself. But Merlins are notorious for ailments in captivity. Once she is better then she will going into an aviery at a friends house because she is nolonger suitable for release.

It happens Steve...we all make mistakes. I have walked away from my tanks leaving the lids off for no other reason than I just wasn't thinking or got distracted...I have been very lucky in the fact that none of my snakes have managed to escape. We live, we make mistakes, we learn from them...it's called "being human".
