It's not Narcisse but it's only 9 mile from my house. The den where my albino male T.s.parietalis came from is open for business.
Many photos and video to come.
If the weather is good this week I'll be back there everyday.

You lucky dog. You guys were freezing your butts off this winter while I was having very nice weather. We got up to 64 degrees in January and had lots of mild weather and sunshine. We have yet to hit 60 degrees since. It's been cool and stormy this entire month and the weather guy said it's not likely we're going to break 60 degrees this month at all. This crap will probably continue through most of April as well.

Very nice Steve, should be coming out in the next week or so, we just had a good storm here, and I noticed a lot of new birds showed up so it is definately getting close. I would think on a warm sunny day after a storm would be a great day for herping. Can't wait to see what you find. Good luck.

Yes, these were today. Hoping to get more and better video tomorrow. I've got a Hi8 camcorder that can record for 2 hours. I'll also take the HiDef camcorder but with only 15 minutes of record time it's not the best.
Well, it's the best just not for a very long time.:D

Heading back to the den this afternoon. Today and tomorrow are going to be in the 60's so there should be some activity.
After than we're back in the 40's for highs.

Spent 2 hours at the den. Cloudy, 54 degrees and a cool breeze. That's 10 degrees colder than yesterday.
I did see one snake down in the hole but he disappeared. I didn't see any snakes outside at all.
Hoping tomorrow will be better.
I've got a Grad. Student visiting the Ranch on Tuesday. We're also planning on a den visit.

Calling for a high of 70 today.

Not a good day at the den. Only 2 snakes out while I was there. Overcast and windy.
Rain about to move in. Looks like I'll have to wait a week or so before they come back out.

Same story around here. I doubt there's anything going on beside the occasional northwestern poking out now and then. I'm sure they want to come out but it's just too cold for even them to be active.

Sure it will. About the end of April. Our weather guy said this is shaping up to be the coldest march on record with an average monthly temperature of 40.1 degrees F. No end in sight. They seem to think that most of April will be very wet and cool too. We've already had 23 rainy cool days out of the past 28 days.
This time last year it was sunny and 74 degrees.

It was nice and sunny here on Sunday, nice thing too... Was my third anniversary. :D I also played badminton with my real mom. It was fun. No snakes around, though.

Man, and it feels like summer down here.:D 70s and 80s. Your feakin' lucky, Steve. The only snakes I ever see down here are rat snakes and racers (not that they arent awesome). The only garter snake I've even seen in my life is in my bedroom right now. Ok... maybe I'm exaggerating a little. (but not much) As much herping as I do, I just expect more...
