Yes,

Like Udo said, you'll be looking at 2-3 years before this morph is properly established in Europe.

awhh :(
Hello,
at least I am the one (and maybe only in europe) with the granite checkered garters. :-)
And as Udo said I am going to visit the EGSA - meeting in Rheinbach.
Unfortunately there is only one small litter of 100% het granite babies born in may 2010.
But I am looking forward to at least two more litters this year.
With best wishes from cologne,
Vivi

Hi,
as soon as there are enough youngsters born to give some of them away, I will let you know.
Maybe in May/June. At least I hope so.
Kind regards,
Viviane
PS: Real Granites should be born in fall next year, if everything works fine.

Then anyone who gets some of the offspring can start inbreeding right away. You'll upside down snakes before you know it.

I didn't say that. If anyone wants to raise up and breed the first offspring from these, and you know everyone will, they will have to breed siblings. I said INbreed. I don't even know what you mean by interbreeding. Then the next people who buys that second generation will probably do the same thing, and so on, until you have snakes wiggling around on their backs.
I think it's great that they're finally being bred in Europe but unless they imported more than just a few pair, it won't take long for inbreeding depression to set in. Especially if the pairs they imported are already related. What they really need over there are WC totally unrelated snakes for outcrossing the lines they already have.
Hi,
I am going to have het granites from two different granite males with 6 different normal females to produce two different blood lines.
My males are not from the same litter - thatīs shure.
And as I am working with normal females from six different blood lines (almost all of them wc or youngsters from wc parents), there should be some youngsters here, which should not be related to each other.
And: Indeed I am trying to import some more Granites to Europe.
So if anyone has some of them to offer: Just give me a message!
At least I am not going to give them away too quickly - as there is indeed a big risk of inbreeding if I did so.
With best wishes,
Viviane

Sounds like a good start in the right direction.
