Seriously Don, he is sharp. I love how reduced his pattern is... so much yellow! I am not a huge fan of albinos... where did he come from? his head pattern is odd... in fact... it looks like he has the pastel lineage in him. his head pattern stands out to me. It's not normal! Is there a chance he is a pastel albino? His head pattern is identical to my two pastel albino 2010 babies! (I am holding them back still)

edit: I just looked at his labials and the "collar" are of his neck. He does look like he's a pastel. He's got that tell tale labial pattern. Can you send me or post a photo of the side of his face? To get a clear view of the labials... they will tell all! I would put money on it that he is one. It explains the extreme contrast.

I will have to get a few more pics =) I picked him up from a local pet store....traded some baby plains (3 possible red phase, 1 het albino, and 1 anery) for him. was a good deal! I was thinking he might be a pastel.... very nice one too!!!

A morph that Shannon has been breeding for some time now. I guess they were being called "hypo" at first but... Anyway, the pattern is slightly aberrant especially on the head and upper part of the body and when not albino, also has a very bright light colored background when compared to a normal. They are very bright with high contrast. This is one of Shannon's photos of the "Pastel" checkered garter. I have two coming from her that are het albino. Can't wait to see them in person!

I think this is a pastel..... but he's almost 24" long....not sure if she would have produced it... I got him from a local pet store that got him from a reptile wholesaler.

I need to get some better shots in the sunlight this spring....his background color is a light green
he also has some orange flecks around the purple checkers
