No, but it still annoys me that they're referred to as a two-headed snake.

Try to contain your excitement.

I think it's great that there's only 1 "two headed" albino and it's a garter snake.:D

"There are eight known two-headed snakes in the world, but this is the only snake which is both two headed and albino."

this is false... I call BS on both parts of that statement. There are more than 8..... not all of them are owned by museums and have widespread fame and what not... but there are WAY more than 8. Also... there is a two headed albino rat snake out there that is pretty well known. And it was funny because in the article I read about him... they were claiming them to be the only albino two headed snake also. And not too long ago, there was a red phase albino western hognose with two heads for sale on KS. For some obscene amount of money. Where in the heck they got their facts from... who knows?!

Seriously though... that's pretty neat. But I agree with Stefan... it's actually two snakes stuck with one body! Each of those heads is an individual that makes it's own decisions and if you've ever seen footage of snakes with two heads crawl... the heads often are arguing over which way to go!

I didn't check the facts before I spilled it. Just presented the article:o

I think it's better than pretty neat. Yes, I've seen arguing heads, you guys don't have to convince me at all that they are individual snakes.

The news are only quoting the owner, a German:o living close to the border near Basel.
Most siamese twins are stillborn or die after short livetime.
Maybe their are eight living twins-snakes at the moment, known by the owner of this pair.

I´m quiet sure, he aquried them at the day of the announcment.

It looks like he´s endeavouring to earn a wired kind of fame.

It looks like he´s endeavouring to earn a wired kind of fame.

And that's the problem  ... it's definitely not for the good of the snake. It's just a superdooper morph to make the owner feel special. You see these offered for sale with ridiculous pricetags.

ST. LOUIS, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- At a desired price of $150,000, the World Aquarium in St. Louis is offering a sort of twofer -- a two-headed albino rat snake, appropriately named "We."
Actually, the price for We is $150,000 or the best offer, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The 6 1/2-half-year-old female snake has been in the aquarium since 1999, when the facility paid $15,000 to buy it from its previous. At the time, it was felt such snakes …

I've seen silly sums mentioned on another forum but this is very common from what I've seen for this deformity

Not something I would think that you could, even if you tried. Interesting to note that they wanted $150,000 but all offers for "We" came in at less than $50,000. Glad to see there's still some bit of sanity in the world. "We" is one of two, conjoined albino twins I could find. Thing is, I cannot confirm whether or not either of those snakes is still alive today. If they are not, then that would make this garter the only two headed albino alive in the world.

There are currently several two headed albinos Robert, but only one of them is a garter snake - A checkered. I'm pretty sure it's not for sale. It was kept a secret from the public until it's current owner purchased it and announced it's existence.
