just found Ember, my flame - dead
he'd come out of brumation a few days ago, and because he seemed on the thin side I fed him yesterday
the tank temps are fine, but perhaps I should have waited a bit longer, or something . . .
who knows - maybe the food had nothing to do with it, and he was skinny for some other reason, and would have perished anyway
I'm just bummed - very
in fact it's getting worse as my denial evaporates

sorry to see your announcement when reading these kind of threads i am pulled in two directions ,
along side the sympathy for the member losing a much loved friend , there is also the knowledge that the people on this sight hold their snakes very close to their hearts and that they are not just trading commodities

I know what you mean about being pulled in different directions. On the one hand, I'm trying to get a start in the commercial aspect of it and started selling snakes last year. Obviously, some snakes are more dear to me than others. Makes it difficult to let some of them go and I even have a few that are so dear to me, I wouldn't want to take even a ridiculously high amount of money for them because they are irreplaceable. (personality-wise)
