Nope .... not found anywhere better than this :D ... most other forums are very trend orientated, bitchy and non-garter friendly places

Here are a few links for bits and bobs. Mostly scientific -

Contemporary Herpetology: Contents (http://www.contemporaryherpetology.org/ch/)

Phyllomedusa - Journal of Herpetology (http://www.phyllomedusa.esalq.usp.br/table.php?V=7&N=2)

marcel van der voort's website (http://home.orange.nl/mjm.vandervoort/index_en.html)

Also - check out a thread here http://www.thamnophis.com/forum/garter-snake-lounge/6722-learning-zone.html - lots of interesting reading to be had (some links have gone dead over time though).

This site has some nice folks (many of them are members of this forum too) and garter friendly but has more flexibility regarding the subject matter. It's not garter-specific like this site. Wayne (infernalis) is the administrator. You'll find a lot of familar people there including myself.

Once we are back up and running on our new server.... I will of course recommend reptastic.com. It is currently being completely revamped. Very friendly, large bunch of people from all walks of the hobby. It's a very broad and large reptile forum, with discussion panels for everything from snakes to insects... enclosures and expos, and the last section is dedicated to your off topic animals. I dunno, maybe I am biased... being the administrator and what not

I would highly recommend Herp nation, it's a fantastic magazine. It's mostly about field herping, although there are also some captive care notes. A lot of great content in them and the quality of the photos are astonishing.
