The other evening I was about to feed some of my larger snakes. I had thawed out a dozen adult mice.
I didn't have anything small thawed out but wanted to feed some mice to some of younger snakes.
I took a few of the adult mice and cut off the tails. I diced up the tails and offered them. They were taken readily.
It was a no mess way of introducing mice to young snakes.
Just thought I'd pass the idea along.

Fine that it worked for you, I had only 50% success with this until now.

Tails, feet, whatever. Doesn't really matter. I just dice up the pinkies while they are still frozen solid. Any young snakes that are going to take mice, will take any part of it.

Any that won't, don't.

Same goes for adult mice or fuzzies. I peel the skin and fur off, (it's easy when they're frozen) dice up the soft parts, (while still frozen) and feed them to babies. No problem.

I have snakes that can take whole pinkies, but not fuzzies or hoppers. Again, I peel off the fur, cut them in half or thirds, thaw them, and feed.

Any time I'm feeding he adults with pinkies I cut the tails and feet off and let the babies have them. They take them without any scenting. :D
The adults just seem to wonder why their pinky looks different... Haha.
