Yes they are.. $169.00 US dollars is rather steep. But if they may be a lot more rare in Canada. So the price is depending on weather or not you are happy to pay it. ;)

that may be a little steep, but these are also adults. adults will cost more than babies.

true, and it's an instant breeding project that could pay out as soon as 2011.
so all in all a good investment.
simple math.. say 10 healthy babies worth $50 each, more than double your money in six months.
and that's a conservative figure.

Raising Garter Sankes in Germany wonīt make them more expensive,
there is very little demand on adult snakes, or people donīt like to pay an adequate price for the additional work of rearing.

The guy has had them for sale since September. He had a second ad dated beginning of September. So so far no ones been interested.

A German friend of mine is selling his baby snakes, born in April 2010, for 100 Euro each, but if there is no prospect yet, you may place an acceptable lower offer for them.
Maybe itīs easier to decide what they are worth for you, when you see them alive, if you could visit the keeper. Especially anerythristic morphs sometimes look a lot better by eyesight than on a photo.
I wonīt conceal that Iīd not be amused, if unknown people ask for a discount for one or two offered snakes.

I was just curious as to how much you guys would think they are.

they're nice looking
if they've not sold, the seller may be willing to go down with the price a bit

I offered $150 but I did say I wasn't able to take them right away as space is little at the moment. I have to get settled with my move into my own place and then I'm thinking of adding more to my collection.

That's what I was going to say, and given the fact that they are ready to breed adults, they do appear to truly be anery's, and the need for anery's to produce other morphs, I'm sure they'll have no trouble selling them at that price.

If you want them you might send him a deposit on the snakes.
That shows him a good faith effort on your part.
Maybe you can make him some smaller payments on the snakes.
I've done that with a couple of the great US breeders.;)

if i was to do that I'd just set the money aside myself... he could run with my deposit money and sell to someone else... It's just my own self security though... so yeah. A known breeder sure... but just some random guy... idk...

I even have reservations about new people that show up here with single digit post counts, that none of the established members know, or have done business with, that want to sell garters.
