how do edit the posts on your thread?

You only get a limited amount of time to edit your posts. The option, if available, is usually displayed next to the reply/quote/etc buttons ;)

I believe it's on the order of 10 minutes, after that PM a mod. ;)

Yup. Refresh the page first. If you can still edit, the button will appear next to the quote button.
