This year´s breeding season is definitely gone.
I´m looking at my breeders, acquisitions and hold backs and wondering
about next year´s breeding projects.
high red ´parietalis,
erythristic ´sirtalis and maybe
amelanistic ´parietalis are on my list.
What are you planning?

Hoping to produce some high red radixes.
Hoping also to produce some hets from my male albino T.s.parietalis.
Some normal T.s.parietalis will also be welcomed.
I'm looking forward to some more het Checkereds.

Plans for next season: None.
If the viperines reproduce on their own, great, but I won't breed any of the garters.

Beautiful snake.
Her designated mate is preparing for shed but could you imaging the red shimmering thru the old skin?

He´s only about 15 inch yet, has eaten very bad all the summer but is now back on feed again, shed twice last month, so I hope he will grow enough and get interested in females during winter.
If both gives their red to amelanistic offspring we´ll probably need sun glasses to view their babies:D

Yesterday I met a friend who bought the mother of the het. amelansitic male in spring 2009. I had to give her away because my space is so limited.
http://zooplan.net/zora400.jpg
He was a kind, endeavored keeper in those days, living in the same district like me. I knew that his interest in the snakes decreased last winter, and yesterday he told me that he didn´t want to care for his remaining two snakes anymore. The other one is a pos.het. amelanistic female born in 2008, she´s skinnier as Zora, but both took a good meal and will spend the advent in my living room. I´ll cram them to substitute all the meals, I guess, they´ve missed.
Their former keeper is still a kind guy, but had not enough time and energy for a sufficient maintenance.

Wow, those are some awesome red sideds. They're both het for amelanistic? Gawd, I can't even imagine an albino with that much red!
I plan on breeding my two big blue anery concinnus girls to a very handsome anery male that has very clean white spots and a little greenish tint to his face.
The male anery:

The girls:

Also will hopefully be breeding my red stripe ordinoides girl to an erythristic male.
And that's it.

The ordinoides I hope to pair up. He made an attempt a few weeks ago but nothing happened. The girl is now brumating. The male will go in with her soon and I'll bring them out in late February.

They are burning my eyes!

Are you referring to the red sideds, the anery's or the red ordinoides?
I did manage to get ONE anery into Canada this year. If I can do it again and get more of them into Canada, then perhaps they might make it to Europe from there, but that's a long shot and would have to be arranged by somebody in Canada.

All but redsideds ... although offspring of Steves new amelanistic male?
The best way to ship to Europe should be colaborating with Scott,
if there is an import next year. I know no other with an export license, who would care sufficiently for Garters prior to shipping.
But I have no budget and no serious need for that, yet.;)

At our meeting yesterday and in Hamm on Saturday we had discussions about importing further snakes from the US.
Shipping is so wickedly expensive that most European breeders could purchase special CB offspring only by cooperating in a group.
We´re planning...;)
and saving money:D

Well it's about time somebody coordinated and got a plan. I had a feeling that's how they make it happen. Garters getting over there, I mean.

Another breeding saison is gone, I had two litters only,
but wait again for my San Francisco girl to give birth (with little hope for living babies)
These two guys I got at a Garter pals meeting in my living room September 24th.

And what else are you going to breed?
I will breed with my scotti's .... and will give my eastern blackneck's a change but I don't think i will be that lukcy.
I need another couple to breed with, but still have no idea what I want. A granite marcianus would be awesome, but I don't think they will be in houten okt. 9th.
So looking for something else. Maybe pickeringii blue or something. Dunno :D
