Does anyone know of a good place to pick up water snakes? I rarely see any available and don't know of any breeders. The ones I do see available are just normal Florida/Banded water snakes. I am particularly interested in the cherry hypo's that I think aSnakeLovinBabe has posted pictures of before. I would really like to see more in the hobby so if anyone knows where any water snake species could be for sale, please post. And also I wouldn't mind seeing pictures of any of your water snakes.

Have you contacted Shannon to see if she has any available?

No I didn't contact her. The clutch I saw was from 2009 so I assumed the only ones she would have left are the ones she was holding for herself. I will try though.

There always seem to be an ample supply of them for sale on kingsnake.com in the classified section under "other snakes"
He's a link to one ad kingsnake.com Classifieds: Water Snakes: CB 10: $10 each (http://market.kingsnake.com/detail.php?cat=6&de=785378)

there's obviously something I'm missing about water snakes. I remember a video not long ago of Shannon (asnakelovinbabe) feeding a whole bunch of baby water snakes and she seems to adore them so...

Awe, so glad to see someone else actually keeps - and adores - a nothern water snake. Mine is silver and red... so stunning to see in person!

he little guy is my northern, the bigger one's the hypo :D Sorry its a crappy picture but its the only one I've got... they both have water deposits on them and it makes them look dusty and takes away from their color!

I'm intrigued. Why are they so loved by some people? They aren't particularly attractive to me, but obviously there's more to a snake than it's looks. I know this to be true. So what is it about water snakes?

Hard to answer that one, I adore mine... He's plain, he's reclusive and hates any kind of handling, yet somehow he captivates me..

Water snakes are awesome. I have a few Northern and Florida Hypo. Very nice snakes.
