I noticed that some of my 2010 babies from my wc female look odd? there seems to be two different patterns? one has a nice solid boarder around the orange dorsal stripe and on row of spots. The other seems to just has a ton of spot?
any input will help! thanks guys

There is much variety in those radixes. Everyone a jem.
That is one of the things I like best about them*VARIETY*

Nothing unusual about that. Like Steve said, Variety.

Yes- there is something unusual about that striped one. I have one like that and so does Scott Felzer.... they are siblings. That's not your everyday t. radix pattern! I would definitely keep it and breed it back to a parent or sibling that looks like that if you have a few of them. Scott calls his an "aztec".... I just call mine the super-striped!

I was thinking about these snakes- the stripes really remind me of some of the garters I caught as a kid- I suspect they might have been Butlers Garters as they are pretty common here in MI. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll find one like I remember eventually.

Is it my imagination or does something seem a little off with the scales too? I mean, remember that radix that steve had with the extra laterals? Something looks odd besides the pattern on those snakes here.

They're from Scott... pretty much a given.
Sorry, had to say it.

??? Do explain.. as far as extra laterals. I know Scott has the Aztec but these babies are not from him.

I was talking about a snake from one of Steve's litters that was born with extra row(s) of lateral scales. I haven't attempted to count the scales on those snakes pictured above and I like I said, it could just be an illusion but it seems like something is different with the scales, not just the pattern. Almost as if there are too many rows between the laterals and the dorsal.
