This is one of many Oregon Garters I got to find during our last camping trip.

It does! Evil underwater breathing demon that came straight up from Hell!

Very cool! Did he stay there for long? They obviously swim, soak, and fish, but I had no idea they would just hide under a rock and stay put like that! Neat!

I see these guys staying under for quite some time. They are excellent ambush predators. Topside, they often use their tongues, flicking above the water, as bait! Usually, though, it's "lunge and grab!"

I know what you're saying. My close vision went first. Then my far vision and everything in between.
I hate having to wear glasses, contacts won't work and laser correction is not available for my eye problems.

I can't see far without glasses! And my last eye exam revealed that my reading abilities will be diminishing soon. Yea! Bifocals! At least they make 'em "seamless" now.
Back on topic, I need to find some more "where's the snake?" pics.
Oh wow, that's really cool!! Definitely great shots!

Thankfully, I still achieve 12,15 with corrective lenses of course.(last eye exam about a month ago) Without them, I can read small printed paper fairly well, but without them, the giant "E" at the top of the chart is all I can read clearly at distance.
Oh, and the reason I had to get they eye exam and new glasses recently? aren't you curious? *drum roll please*.....
My glasses fell of of my face when I was chasing a huge cool looking garter through a couple of inches of water. I tripped, and stepped on them, breaking them really well.
Hey, I did catch that garter and got a good close up examination... then let it go. Oh, the things we do for the love of snakes.
I went home stinking and without glasses or snakes.:o
