Hi all, I am new here. My wife bought a pair of Eastern Ribbon Snakes the other day, so I am hoping to gain some insight into how to best care for these quick little fellers. I have them housed in a pair of 15 gallon rubber made totes with numerous 3/16" air holes along the sides and the top. (They can't fit through, I checked. :)) Newspaper substrate (I'm a printer, I have a never ending supply) each has a large pyrex pie plate for a water dish. a couple of hides and climby things. I suspect they have only been fed minnows, and from what I have read that is not strictly the best diet for them. Looking for ideas on how to get them to eat other food items, and what to feed them. Oh yes, and warm side temps 77 to 82 degrees, cool side temps 73-75

I also have two corn snakes, and 1 year old BCI also one dumb old dog. :D

Thanks all for the welcome.
Guidefatherof5, thank you for the caresheet link it is very informative.

Snakers, I am trying to get them eating pinks, they don't seem interested. I'll try to scent them with fish next time. They seem to enjoy the hunt, so I'll try something that worked with one of my pickier BP's that I had. I have read and been told that ribbons will turn up their noses at worms. But I'll give it a try they are easy to come by.

Wayne, good to see you here. I'll try your garter goulash next time around. :D

Tyrel26 we are rivals in the cold and snow. And next time I get a case of Moosehead or Molson I'll toast a few to you.;)

Thanks everyone, I'll post some pics of the little buggers in the next couple of days.

Hello and welcome from Michigan!
I'm looking forward to seeing pictures- Good luck with introducing a more varied diet to your new ribbons. Have you named them?
