Do you think this would be okay to have in my garter tank? Is it toxic? It wouldnt be in a pot it would be in as the substrate. Or I could put it in a pot, either way!

I don't see why not, but I would definitely put it in a pot since it will be disturbed whenever you clean the tank if it's directly in the substrate. Plus you'd have to water it and that would obviously get pretty messy.

That is true. Okay thanks!

You could keep it in with your snakes and just use a pot that doesn't have drainage holes in the bottom, so watering isn't a mess. There is always the possibility that your snakes will want to dig in the soil with could be a problem, but the plant it's self is completely safe for them.

PS....If you do buy a plant from a store, make sure to wash or clean off the leaves very well to remove any insecticides or fertilizers that may have been used on it.

well we have it in a fairly small pot that we water hardly ever and it is maybe 10 inches high. We have had it for like a year! Its still healthy though
