Found this beauty while walking the dogs. even his back stripe is orange.

Unfortunately the flash on the camera washed out some of it. I will try and take some outside pics with natural light.

He is nice! I found a few like that on the farm.... Always do every year! I even held a really orange gravid female once and all her babies had zero orange when born.... I believe the orange colors up over time! So don't be surprised if you get a bunch of normal looking babies.... They will change :)

He looks to be a yearling, so if he just gets more orange, that would be cool!

Absolutely gorgeous- that's exactly what I meant when I mentioned admiring snakes that are colored like a Baltimore oriole.

Update... He ate his first meal. Not for lack of trying... He showed no interest in pinks, fish or worms.

As a last resort I offered a couple bullfrog tads, he ate them right up.

Next step scented pinkies.

Little guy is a stubborn eater. Live flopping prey or nothing.

At least he takes the fish.

Found dead this morning.....

That's a shame.
Other than a slow/picky eater, where there any indications that he was going to die?

infernalis

Not sure Steve, he ate 2 days ago.

I noticed he was sitting in the same exact position (looked like he was resting) for a whole day, so I reached in to give him a nudge and he just flopped off the perch.
