This morning I thawed out a few pinkies as a special treat to a few of my snakes. Our girl Lucky has been off food for a few weeks(not a concern, she does this every Summer) I was hoping she would take a couple pinkies since it is her favorite food. I found her to be in opaque phase and not in the mood to eat. So while I was in the enclosure the other residence could smell the treats. One of them came up and missed the pinky I was holding and grabbed the end of my finger. Before I could react she had swallowed my finger past my finger nail and was pressing on.
She hadn't set her teeth yet so I applied slight pressure up and back on her snout. She was gracious enough to let go.
Needless to say I gave her a couple pinkies. She must have been starving since it had been almost 12 hours since her last feeding.
I think the little jerk was just making a point:D

Part of what makes them cool pets. How many pet owners can say that their pet has tried to swallow them alive. :eek: You can see the excitement in her eyes, perhaps at the idea of finally establishing herself at the top of the food chain...best meal ever.

She's a funny little girl. She's the smallest in that enclosure but doesn't let anyone push her around.

You're right she does have a look in her eye. She's a good girl.

12 hours is a long time, Mama barely has any strength left by the first day of not being fed... She lays around in the tank as if she were dying of starvation... She thinks she can fool me, but when i look like i have food she perks up and acts normal, coming up to the top off the tank rubbing her face against the glass, etc... ;)
