I woke up this morning to find one of my 3 stripe girls in labor. Everything has moved southward and she is definitely pushing. I have moved her into a 20 gallon by herself with tight-fitted clean liner and lots of wet moss and hides, and only a few 20 oz gatorade caps full of water. Instead of a basking lamp, I decided to use a 40 watt heat emitter for the event. I'd love to get some HD footage of some of the babies being born but I have to go to work in an hour and a half.
Anyway, chances are there will be some babies waiting for me when I get home.:D

Of course I'll post pics. I just hate missing it. Hopefully she'll still have some left to squeeze out after I get home. If so, I'll have some video too.

Nope. Still nothing. In the past, I've had this go on for as long as 2 days before babies come. Everything has been pushed toward the vent and I swear it looks like she's about to explode. Still pushing every now and then too, but nothing has come out yet. Maybe tomorrow.
Momma seems fine and alert. :D

I second that. I've been up all night and I keep checking the forums... but of course it's not going to make anything faster haha. Wake up Richard and give us a little update!! ;)

She still looks like if she stretches any further, she'll literally explode. Still pushing occasionally. Nothing yet.
2 of my other girls have had their "loads shift" overnight too. One of them has begun pushing as well. Looks like I'll be having 2 or 3 litters about the same time. Also looks like they are all going to tease me with this for a couple of days before anything happens.

Oh good grief you guys. As if I didn't have enough trouble getting that song out of my head yesterday.
I know it's driving some of you nuts, and it's driving me nuts, but still no babies. Like I said, in the past, the labor thing has gone on for 2 days before babies actually appear. Perhaps they will come today. This afternoon will be 2 days since I saw the signs.
2 girls are now doing this. Pushing their bulk downward (like when they push food down at feeding time) with observable movements, looking like they are going to explode. All I can say is that it can't possibly be much longer than hours. Not days... hours left to go.

The waiting is the worst part, I feel for ya. Sort of that whole "a watched pot never boils", well a watched reptile never births lol.
I have a Northern Blue Tongue skink that dropped a slug over a week & a half ago, then another a few days later and then just yesterday dropped another. She looked like she was in labour about 2 days ago now but still nothing. Of course every spare moment I'm down here analyzing her every breath and move. Twice now I was sure I was about to see a baby being born with the tail up and puuuuushing and...... "Oh a poop.."..
I'm heading out of town on business next week and fully expect it to happen while the wife is overwhelemed with everything else lol..

Yeah, well I guess I should have waited to announce anything but sometimes it only takes a couple of hours. But, like the last time I had a concinnus litter, these two girls are dragging it out for a few days.
Everything has shifted and there's a lot of squirming/pushing, etc. so it can't possibly be much longer. On a positive note, if she waits 'til sat or sun, I'll be here to shoot video.:D
Just for saying that, watch her have them while I'm at work today.

The smallest female 3 stripe concinnus I have, had a litter of 14 healthy babies overnight. I missed the whole thing. No slugs, no stills, no kinks or deformities, just perfect babies.
I don't know what's going on with the girl who prompted this thread. She still hasn't had any babies.

That is awesome about the new Mom! Your report, however, is incomplete. WE NEED PICTURES!
Hope the other one has a good litter here soon too!

I decided I'm just going to post updates of new litters and pics here: http://www.thamnophis.com/forum/general-talk/7090-concinnusmans-garters.html
So far that's one litter of 14 concinnus babies and one litter of 6 ordinoides. Pics will be posted to the thread I linked to, starting on page 12. I need to figure out how to get good photos first. One's I took today are lousy and I'm tired. I'll try again soon.
