He will soon be moving into his new home that my husband has slaved over! lol. It's looking great! I can't wait till it's all done and set up for Mr. Pink hehe. Much more room for him to roam as well. I'm sure he'll be excited!
Here's the VIV in case you didn't see it in the other thread...

He's got alot more done to it. The lid is all done now, everything is sealed and just drying. He also made the top out of mesh for the ventilation. So yeah, now we just gotta get some hiding spots and some nice decor in Mr. Pinks new home and he's all ready to move in.

Mr. Pink's a good lookin' snake! Very distinct black and I like the orangish-yellow hue. Pictures are good just about anywhere you want to put them :).

Nice looking little snake....very characteristic "garter" look, don't see so many of them anymore with all the morphs and such.

Yeah he is :)
We're from Ontario, Canada. Believe that's the only garter we have here?
How do you enter the photo contest? I need to get some more pictures of Mr. Pink, I now have an actual camera instead of cell phone LOL.

Just put a picture in the contest thread and you've entered the contest. The theme is head close-ups this month.

Marc & Marie,
The contests are just for fun. There are no prizes, but they give us a chance to enjoy each other's snakes. Here's a link to this month's contest (http://www.thamnophis.com/forum/thamnophis-contests/664-april-2007-photo-contest.html). The first post has the rules. I hope you enjoy the contest.

There are about three more days left to post new pictures into this month's contest. Then the winner decides the theme for the following month. My cheap, old camera has a bit of trouble focusing on extreme close-ups, so here's a trick I use. Hold your camera only a few inches away from an object with good texture, and press and hold your focus button half-way down to make it focus. Then move the camera the same distance from your snake with the button still half-depressed, and finish taking the picture. I have to do it this way because the extra 3/4" between my IR sensor and lens makes a real difference on close-ups. I hope this tip helps.

That's the reason I want a decent digital SLR, with accurate through the lens focusing. One day!
