I just stopped home for my lunch break and my girl is in the process of giving birth. So far there is one very tiny little "scrub" dashing around the enclosure, and he possibly the smallest Ive ever seen.
Don't know if Ill have time to get pics on here tonight but Ill try to add some in the morning. Keep you fingers crossed for the little ones :)

Thanks for reading!

Mom is doing great as far as I can tell. She is still very big and I still only have the one kiddo...Im getting worried but I have had red sided garters take 24hrs to deliver before. Anyone else have this happen? (i haven't had many give birth before)

Pics to come!!

well Im still waiting on more babies and a helpful reply; but at the moment my snake is doing great. Have you ever seen a video of a pregnant womans belly and the baby is clearly moving inside it? little hand and feet pushing against the skin....
Thats what my snake looks like! I can see babies moving inside her and pressing against her skin! I wish I could get a video of this but my camera doesn't take a very good video.

at the moment she doesn't seem to be having any contractions or irregular behavior, but as her first and only baby was born over 24hrs ago im very anxious.

Anyone have any helpful information?

Good luck with everything!
I'm rooting for you and the mama snake

As a rule I don't get many long term deliveries. At this point I think you are just along for the ride. If she appears to be acting normal(moving, drinking, tongue flicking, alertness, quick movements) I don't think there is anything you can do. Of course you could get her a Vet. visit but I'm not she what they would do. I don't think they would give her a shot of Pitocin.:D
Your hands are really tied as you don't want to do anything that might cause problems.
She's in our prayers here at the Ranch.
Please keep us posted.

Mom and her one baby are doing great, she is acting the same as she always does and the little one is a very hyper little scrub. whenever I get close to the enclosure the little one with quickly dig down through the substrate and out of sight lol.

I will let you know as soon as I get more news, lets hope this movie has a good ending!

So in summary momma had ONE baby on Friday morning, ONE baby Saturday afternoon, and TWELVE babies on Sunday. As I have said before there were 4 stillborn and I would expect that the extended delivery time had a hand in this. This isn't a large snake, in length, so I would suspect that this was her first time giving birth; so I feel that she did good!

Well here are a few pictures of the little ones, ill add better ones after the first shed.

These are the little ones that didn't make it, I figured the least I could do was take a few pics of them.

Just a little update:
The babies have their own home now and since the final babies were born on Sunday, 6 out of 10 have taken worms with no hesitation. The other four that have yet to feed look great so hopefully they will begin eating soon.

Thanks for reading!

Another update only minutes later!! lol as i was reading posts on here i had set a container with the 4 babies that have yet to eat beside me, i look over and one if eating and another is trying to take it from him (yes I know its dangerous to feed as a group but i find it helps with snakes that are slow to take food). So that 7 out of 10 and I would expect the thief to feed anytime now!

Great news! The babies look fantastic, congrats. I'm sure you'll have the rest eating in no time. It's always the most stressful part I find, making sure they're all eating.

I am happy to report that now 8 out of 10 are feeding. As the mother was a wc i will be returning most if not all of the babies back to the location where I found the mother.
