I sure hope everything turns out OK. Was it doing a lot of tongue flicking and moving? If it was in that netting very long it was probably dehydrated.
Nice job on the rescue.
What did you do with it?
Looks like it's going into or coming out of a shed.

Funny you should say about shedding it was peeling off in my hand as I wrestled it out of the netting, yes it was very dehydrated what I did was use a drinking bottle and squirted into mouth he/she drunk a lot I have released her into her natural environment now as I didn't want to keep it.

Lovely Snake though and not one we see all that often being a private little thing.

Thanks all, it was rescued from the UK county Wiltshire, its a rare treat to see one but was in unfortunate circumstances I must admit but hopefully the snake will live on to have a happy life. Job done feel really proud of myself that I helped a living native snake as it could well of died if left there much longer of like you say dehydration as its very hot in the UK at present which makes a pleasant change. :)

Have to say though this has made me want to get my Garter even more now the shear beauty of these creatures. Also as I have never had any dealings with snakes before as I don't know a lot I was surprised how my instincts took over to give this one a helping hand.

Find yourself a garter and you'll have a great snake to take care of.
Best of luck, keep us informed.

You did very well. Those instincts (kindness) are commendable.

Cheers.

Nice looking snake. The injuries don't look life-threatening. He'll probably make it thanks to you. I saw a post some months ago, the same thing happened to a large garter snake. It was in the blazing hot sun and couldn't free itself from a net. It was found in time, and freed. :D Another snake, also caught in the same netting, was already decomposing.:(
