They are very opportunistic. Is that milk weed pod seeds she resting on?
I'd call her Princess:D

Sure is, old mouse nest.:D About a million ants moved into her old spot under a piece of plywood, so I guess she just moved up into a high rise.

That is so cool. I once found a little T. ordinoides curled up in an old abandoned Pipilo erythrophthalmus (Towhee) nest at the base of a tree. I expected to see eggs or baby birds, but no, I find a snake. The birds nest on the ground so my little brother who was with me, from there on out, every time he'd find a bird nest on the ground he'd say "hey look, I found a snake nest" pretty silly huh?:p

Had to take a look this afternoon: she is still there and getting ready to shed. Couldn't resist holding her for a while.:)

The more i look at them, the more i like the "normal" phase of garter snakes, although i am a sucker for lighter snakes =):p

Great looking snake, Terry.
It's nice she has someone to check on her.
Have you ever tried to hand feed her?

Took the dogs out a little while ago and this thing was crossing the driveway. See any family resemblance?;)

That is so cute!
EDIT: Woops, posted before I realized that the first part of the thread is pretty old  Still, very cute though. I like how she has company under the shovel-head this year. Maybe the reason you have little lookalike babies in your drive-way.
