Just got in from gathering a couple garden slugs to try to tempt my Aberforth- problem is they are about as large in diameter as she is! (2-3 inches in length)
Its the type 'A' slug pictured in this thread.

Is that too big for her to handle? Should I go try to find smaller ones? (We seem to raise 'em big around here.)

The bigger the slug the more slime.
If you've got the monsters you should also have the smaller ones.
Some garters don't eat them. Have you fed them before?

Haven't managed to get Aberforth to eat yet. Slugs are the latest attempt. I'll go out and look for some smaller ones- these are real monsters- they are more like 4 inches long stretched out and crawling.

Urgh.
Couldn't find any smaller ones, and it is getting dark.
Ah well, I'll try earthworms again.

I think shannon could use a vacation. Slug pizza? WT? First she was talking about making pizza out of left over garter food such as pinkies and fish, and now this. I'm worried about her.;)
But in all seriousness, my slug-only eating ordinoides won't touch leopard slugs. Good thing there's plenty of other kinds around nearly year 'round. Transitioning him over to night crawlers. Progress is slow but it's happening.

I could... actually.. I have not had one since last august! But it's coming... Sunday, a trip to a remote lake for some herping, then at the end of july... off to the mountains for a weekend to herp the farm (and possibly turn up another flame) and then in august DAYTONA SHOW BABY!!!! woooo
