Hey everyone, I am from Austin TX. I have always loved snakes and I used to catch garter snakes all the time when I was a kid living in Oregon. I am very interested in picking up a pair of puget garters so if any of you have some available send them my way! =D

I also keep chuckwalls, tegus, ball pythons, and boas. Right now I have one florida blue garter.

Blue IS the normal coloration.

Common misconception. Throughout the majority of their range, most are not blue. But it is "normal" in that it is not a mutation.

Oh, and welcome jlkelly:D Find me a pair of eastern blackneck garters and we can talk about getting you some blue garters.;)

Hi, from Hillsboro, Jlkelly88 :)

I might ad that blue is the norm in the south end of the sound. From Olympia through Fort Lewis, up to the south border of King County. Once in King county, the blue turns to a pale green or white and you start seeing some with a few red spots on the flanks. North Sound border region and Canada is mostly red phase. Intergrades with T.s.concinnus happen on the SW WA coastal area.

Well then you might remember seeing blue anery concinnus like my avatar or at least remember seeing normal oregon red-spotted garters. They are plentiful in that part of Oregon.

I used to catch truck loads of oregon-red spotted garters. I wish I had some now. If I find any black necks I will let you know. I have been wanting some as well.

Litters of normal single and triple stripe concinnus on the way. Probably ready to ship out this fall assuming I get plenty of viable offspring as expected.

Have you ever tried keeping them? They're great. They're smart, they're curious, they're comical, they have personality, and did I mention they're great?:D Plenty of videos of them in action on my youtube channel. They're a riot.

Well count me in on some when you get babies. I would love to have some. I have never actually kept them. I just caught them all the time.

And you be on the lookout for any interesting non-venomous snakes you can find in Texas.;)

I will keep a look out. I have seen a ribbon snake, lots of garters, and kings. I also had a pair of trans pecos rats before that a friend caught me. I hope to get another pair eventually.
