Hi,

I saw on some of the pics of peoples vivs that they'd created ledges for the snakes to sit high up in the viv. the snake we have seems to sit up on top of the plants attached to the sides. whats the best way to give him some kind of high ledge to climb up on? besides a bit of imagination... ;)

thanks!

My tank came with two shelves built in (I think it was made for gerbils), but my best friend made a platform for his corn out of small sticks (willow, I think?).
Perhaps you could use a sturdy cardboard box? You could cut an entry hole into the bottom of one side and it could double as a hide?

If you wanted something instant with no building required, I found some nice resin rocks/tunnels on eBay for £3.99 with free post. I searched for 'vivarium rock', I think. They're easily cleaned, too.
Or you could check out the small animal section in a pet store, as they sometimes make climbing platforms for gerbils etc. I think in Petsmart they also sell packets of the willow twigs. They may need to be treated, though; I'm not sure.

Thanks Mix, I'll have a look over at ebay and see whats there. I'm not very handy myself, so if i could buy something that'd be the best option. I wouldn't want the snake crawling up my rickety shelf and the thing collapsing lol

I can't find the one I ordered (perhaps I got the last one), but this one's quite 'platformy' with a nice flat top (they also have it in a lighter colour):
